The pages begin...

So Inked Australia (AND NZ) is under way...
Pages are being produced, edited, photos taken and I've even written stuff.
I spent today forced to look at male models... FORCED!
So hard.
I figure if all the other (make) editors can have their pretty girls then the female audience should be able to enjoy some nice looking ink as well.
But guys need not worry... girls, girls, girls... an overload of girls. Most of my features are girls. I've started looking at tattoos before faces, luckily we have so many beautiful people (inside and out approaching us).
However, there is something I must say is: Just because the tattoos aren't what you'd get on your body it doesn't make them any less amazing. There is always a story behind someone's tattoos so stop judging, we get enough of that, and start enjoying the beauty of other people's bodies.... i do.
Oh yes.. back to work ;)

ANNOUNCING INKED AUSTRALIA

So many of you have heard that something is going on with the magazine(s)...

After launching Australian Ink a year ago so much has changed. After having some serious issues with the publishers I decided to leave the magazine that I loved and started.

Over the weeks since this has happened I have had a number of offers to take over existing magazines and one to take what I have been doing for the past year and put it in a new magazine. I signed the papers today!

This new magazine will be a partnership with the American magazine Inked, creating an international brand. Sharing content worldwide.

This is big. Bigger than big really and I'll be organising some pretty big Australian exclusives, but as always I'd love feedback and ideas from you all.
So contact me any time on vanessa@inkedaustralia.com
THANKS! Ness x

FFS

WILL YOU STOP CALLING!!! why is it the wrong people always call a thousand times when all you want is... the right people to care.

what a week...

The tattoo industry isn't always nice... and i'm not talking about the bikie element. I've been lucky enough to avoid that.

Usually the people causing the mess have little to do with tattoos, they're the money men.

A lot of backstabbing and bitchy going on behind the scenes, but on top of that there are a lovely people from around Australia who are beautiful inside and out who deserve to be elevated. And thanked!

Tattooists.. am yet to meet a bad one (I'm sure I've been lucky), writers and photographers who will work for nothing to show the beauty of the art and just amazing tattooed people.

Love it all.

Talk about what you know...

A wise person should know that you need to keep your mouth shut on topics that you know little about.
Politicans are asked a lot of question, sometimes they are caught off guard, but what Gillard has shown is that she has a lack of understand of what it means to have tattoos and who has tattoos in our society.

Education is the key, we'd like to interview Julia Gillard for issue one of the Inked Australia.

Wish us luck!
